Dark Edge Press Sign, Comedic Crime Author, Ian Williams Two-Book Deal
We're extremely excited to be able to share our recent signing with you of comedic crime author, Ian Williams. But not as excited as production manager, Louise Mullins was, who sent the author an incomplete contract in her euphoria at the potential of securing a deal with such a talented author. Whose brilliant novel, A Bitter Brew, had our Submissions Advisor, Sarah Voisey, 'in fits of giggles' and 'reading late into the night, unable to turn the pages fast enough' to finish it.
With accolades like that you'll be pleased to know that you won't have to wait long to get hold of a copy, as A Bitter Brew will be published in eBook and print next year. However, you'll be able to pre-order either format very soon.
Ian Williams is an award winning journalist and author who has reported from around the world. For twenty-five years he was a foreign correspondent based in Russia, China and the Far East, first for Channel 4 News and then for America’s NBC. He also covered conflicts in the Balkans, Middle East and Ukraine. He won an Emmy and BAFTA awards for his discovery and reporting on the Serb detention camps during the war in Bosnia. Since returning to the UK, Ian has written four books – two cyber thrillers, Beijing Smog and Zero Days, and two non-fiction works, Every Breath You Take - China’s New Tyranny, and The Fire of the Dragon - China’s New Cold War, examining China’s rise.
A Bitter Brew, Ian’s fifth book, is an off-beat thriller set in the Brecon Beacons. Much of the action is centred around a struggling coffee shop, the eccentric characters who frequent the place, and its owner, a world-weary former journalist whose coffee shop dream is rapidly going sour.
Ian took coffee shop management and barista courses, spent plenty of time in the Beacons and visited Albania while researching the book that indulges two of his passions, coffee shops and hiking – both laced with a good dose of mystery.
We cannot wait to get this book into the hands of our readers and we just know that you're going to love it as much as we do.
